A former Citrus County Detention Facility security chief has been named warden of the Tecumseh State Correctional Institution in southeast Nebraska.. Todd Wasmer was previously chief of security for the Citrus County Detention Facility in Lecanto. Wasmer assumes his new duties in August.

Crews battle Crumps Landing fire
Citrus County Fire Rescue and the Sheriff’s Office had units on scene for a reported fire at Crumps Landing in Homosassa. Crew members on scene were able to safely put out the fire. No one was injured during this unfortunate event. The main tiki hut was destroyed in the flames, however.
