Citrus County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes detectives Monday night arrested 50-year-old Victrina Marie Crites-Worley for the murder of her husband, 77-year-old Lawrence Howard Worley, Sr.

On March 30, deputies responded to a residence in Crystal River in reference to a well-being check, where Crites-Worley was located inside the residence and the lifeless body of her husband was discovered on the property.

Crites-Worley was transported to a local hospital from the scene for treatment of her injuries. While she was hospitalized, detectives continued their investigation into this gruesome murder with her as a person of interest.

Upon Crites-Worley’s release this evening, she was questioned and subsequently arrested for 1st degree murder of her husband.

“It’s thanks to the perseverance of our Major Crimes detectives and Forensics Unit that we are able to piece together a crime scene and find the truth,” said Sheriff Prendergast.

“From the very beginning, the story and evidence at the scene just didn’t add up. It wasn’t long before CCSO detectives were able to take Crites-Worley into custody for the murder of her own husband.”
