The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide that may have been the result of a domestic dispute.

Deputies responded on Monday to a residence in the area of North Andri Drive in Crystal River in reference to a well-being check.

Deputies made contact with an injured 50-year-old woman inside the home. She was eventually transported from the residence to a local hospital for treatment of her injuries.


While continuing with the security check of the home, deputies also found a 77-year-old deceased male on the property. The man was later identified as Lawrence Howard Worley, Sr.

The CCSO is currently investigating his death as a homicide. At this time, the 50-year-old woman found inside the home is being considered as a person of interest.

Preliminary information gathered at the scene revealed that this incident is domestic in nature. the CCSO said in a statement to the media, and there is no present threat to the public.

The investigation into this incident remains active, and no additional details are available at this time.
