Marion sheriff’s office seeking kidnapping suspect

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is seeking any information from the public that can help to identify and locate a male suspect in an attempted kidnapping case.

On Thursday, September 22, at around 9:30 a.m., MCSO deputies responded to a report of an attempted abduction. The juvenile victim told the deputies that a man tried to force her into his vehicle while she was at a bus stop in the 14000 block of 202nd Terrace in Umatilla.

While the victim did not recognize the man, MCSO states that she was able to provide a physical description of the suspect and his vehicle. MCSO Major Crimes Detective Kip Peterson is now seeking information to aid in identifying the man or locating his vehicle.

The victim described the man as a white male with tan skin and brown-and-gray hair. According to the victim, the man was driving an older model, red, two-door pickup truck with faded paint, peeling window tint, and rust on the rims and wheel well.

If you have any information that can help locate the suspect for questioning, please call Detective Kip Peterson at 352-368-3539.
