Today, at approximately 6:30 p.m., Citrus County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a residence in the area of West Alamo Drive in Beverly Hills in reference to a possible shooting.

Upon arrival, deputies quickly learned that one of the occupants inside the home was shot and the gunman remained inside the residence.

Working quickly, deputies set up a perimeter around the house, awaiting the arrival of both the SWAT and Crisis Negotiators. Once witnesses were brought to a safe area, deputies were able to make contact with the gunshot victim.

After quickly assessing the victim and providing first-aid, the victim was transferred to EMS, where he was flown out.

Knowing the armed suspect was still inside, SWAT and negotiators began the process of ending this situation as safely as possible. As a precaution, an “Alert Citrus” was issued to residents in the immediate area of Alamo Drive and Flagstaff Avenue. The alert advised citizens of CCSO actively working the incident, and asked for them to remain indoors until the situation is resolved.

The investigation into this incident remains active, and no additional details are available at this time.
