Juveniles caught pushing stolen car at CR mall

A Citrus County deputy today caught four juveniles pushing a car through the Crystal River Mall parking lot.

The car turned out to be reported as stolen from Ocala, the Sheriff's Office said today.

CF gets suicide prevention grant

The College of Central Florida was recently awarded a $294,930 Campus Suicide Prevention Grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

The funds will be used to implement a collegewide suicide prevention project.

Three people were arrested today after Citrus County deputies found drugs, cash and weapons in the Dunnellon area.

YouthBuild graduates turn in hammers for diplomas

OCALA – Phoenix Rising graduates traded hardhats for mortar boards and hammers for diplomas Friday as they celebrated completion of Citrus County’s second and third YouthBuild projects and fourth home.

The graduation was held at Calvary Church in Inverness, just off Croft Road at 2728 E. Harley St. The church is near the Southern Pines subdivision, home to the most recent two YouthBuilds.

CCSO charges man with transmitting HIV

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office has arrested an Ocala man and charged him with failing to tell a Citrus County woman he had HIV before having sexual relations with her.

Arrested was Samuel Lewis Orr, 50, of 480 Marion Oaks Trail in Ocala.

According to his arrest report, Orr had been told that he could communicate this disease to another person through sexual intercourse, and that he didn't use any form of protection before the activity.
