Support organization donates much-needed equipment to Citrus County Animal Services
On March 11, Citrus County Animal Services (CCAS) received a donation of a syringe IV pump from the Citrus County Foundation for Animal Protection (CCFAP).
County veterinarian Dr. Meaghan Meilo expressed the need for the $1,177 piece of equipment to the support organization, who immediately went to work to obtain it.
The pump was already put to good use by the end of the day, with shelter dog Millie being the first to use the device.

County commission proclaims ‘March for Meals’
The BOCC on March 8 declared the Month of March 2022 as “March for Meals Month” in Citrus County.
The ceremony included a presentation by the officers of the Friends of the Community Centers, Inc. of the annual donation of proceeds from “The Circle of Friends Gift Shop” to the Meals on Wheels Program for March For Meals Month.
They reported that more than $50,000 had been raised in donations.

Find out how to easily plan, shop for and prepare meals for one or two. There will also be a cooking demonstration to show how easy it can be.

19 February New Exercise Classes Offered at East Citrus Community Center
The East Citrus Community Center, located at 9907 E Gulf to Lake Highway, Inverness, announces two new additions to their community class schedule.
Tai Chi will be offered on Tuesdays from 9:00-10:00am. On Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 to 11 a.m., certified Silver Sneakers Flex instructor Kathy Johnson will lead Kathy's "Crazy Cardio Class."

The East Citrus Community Center, 9907 E Gulf to Lake Highway, Inverness, will host a six-week course of ballroom dance lessons starting on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at 2:00pm.
Instructor Bill Dimmit will teach participants to dance the fox trot and swing over the six-week period.
