County breaks ground for CR 491 project

More than 30 people attended the County Road 491 widening project groundbreaking ceremony, including Commissioners Brian Coleman, Jeff Kinnard, Ron Kitchen and Jimmie T. Smith. Also attending were County Administrator Randy Oliver, County staff, community members and representatives from project partners, Pegasus Engineering and Commercial Industrial Corporation. The Citrus County Commission on Wednesday broke ground for Phase 1 of the Roadway and Regional Stormwater and Utility Improvements Project for County Road 491.

Master of ceremonies was Citrus County Commission Chairman Scott Carnahan, who officiated over ceremonies at the corner of CR491 and State Road 44.

Trailer LockCitrus County Detectives have been investigating several reports of stolen utility trailers throughout the county -- 19 to be exact -- since the beginning of the year. 
 
Two of these reports have been cleared by arrests, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office said on Friday. 
 
These incidents are occurring both on the East and West sides of Citrus County.
