Floral City shootings leave two men injured

Two people were injured after a Floral City homeowner shot them. At this time it appears the men may have been trying to break into the homeowner's camper (November 20, 2017)

Two people were shot by a Floral City homeowner during what appears to be an attempt to break in to his camper.

The two unnamed suspects were airlifted to Ocala suffering from gunshot wounds.

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office said that deputies responded to a home on Sunray Lane in Floral City on Monday before 2 pm.

It appeared that the two people had been shot by someone living inside the residence, the CCSO said.

Region's jobless rate holds steady, Citrus at 4.9 %

Veterans Day Parade winds through Inverness

Hundreds of people on Saturday lined the streets of Inverness as the annual Veterans Day Parade wound its way down from Citrus High School and through the city.

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office was also represented as the agency paid tribute to veterans from all branches of service.

Arrest made in Tuesday's double shooting, fire off Cardinal

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday announced an arrest in the double shooting and arson on Tuesday afternoon off Cardinal Lane.

Arrested was William Gonsisko, 59, of Lecanto, who has been charged with three counts of attempted murder. He also faces  pending charges for arson, armed robbery and hitting a female victim with a shovel.
