BOCC honors PDC's Nelson

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners presented a certificate of appreciation to Todd Nelson, outgoing member of the Planning and Development Commission, at the BOCC's regular meeting on Feb. 28.

Nelson was honored for his service to the county during his tenure on the Planning and Development Commission. Presenting the certificate is Citrus County Commission Chairman Scott Carnahan.

PSC Commissioner Polmann begins term

Commissioner Donald Polmann today began serving on the Florida Public Service Commission (PSC), which regulates the state’s investor-owned electric, gas, and water and wastewater companies.

He was appointed by Governor Rick Scott for a four-year term ending in January 2021.

Three new Citrus County Commissioners were administered the oath of office on Tuesday before a packed crowd in the commission's chambers in Inverness.

Taking the oath were Jimmy Smith, Jeff Kinnard and Brian Coleman.

Following the ceremony, each new commissioner spoke about how they felt and what they hoped to bring to the commission.
