Volunteer center thanks volunteers, sponsors

The Nature Cost Volunteer Center (NCVC) and Retired & Senior Volunteer Program would like to thank all of the volunteers who came out to the Historic Cemetery in Crystal River on Saturday, October 28, 2017 to improve the property by weeding, raking and renewing the mulch around the perimeter of the property.

In total, 47 volunteers were involved in the project.

With more than 7,000 different eBooks and digital audiobooks, there is a diverse variety to choose from.

The digital collection is especially convenient to those who have a busy schedule, have a hard time making it to the library, or who spend a portion of the year outside the state.

There are approximately thirty collection vehicles working daily in Citrus County. Please keep in mind there will be only one countywide debris collection. 

Anglers on Florida’s east coast can help FWC gather red snapper data

Fish and Wildlife Commission logoResearchers with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration are looking for anglers’ help to capture information about the Atlantic red snapper fishery. 

The recreational season runs Nov. 3-5 and Nov. 10-12 in south Atlantic federal waters. Anglers are limited to one fish per person, per day, with no minimum size limit.

BOCC proclaims Veterans Appreciation Weeks and Veterans Day

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners presented a Proclamation at their regular meeting on October 24, 2017, proclaiming the weeks of October 28 through November 12, 2017 as “Veterans Appreciation Weeks” in Citrus County, Florida and has designated November 11, 2017, as “Veterans Day” in Citrus County, Florida.

Sheriff's Office issues scam alert

Scam Alert signThe Citrus County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday said it wants to alert county residents to a scam that appears to be active in our county.

A caller pretending to be with the "Citrus County Warrants Division" is contacting residents and telling them that they have a warrant and they must pay a fine or they will be taken to jail.
