Suspect charged with Advance America robbery

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office has arrested a suspect in connection with the Sept. 3 robbery of the Advance America business in Inverness.

Deputies on Friday arrested on Aaron Jabar Betsy, 36, of Citrus Springs on a probable cause warrant in connection with the case.

Inverness merchant robbed at gunpoint

Suspect wanted in the robbery of Advance America in Inverness

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office is looking for a gunman who robbed an Inverness merchant at gunpoint at about 10:40 a.m. on Saturday.

The CCSO said the robbery occurred at the Advance America store in the Citrus Plaza in Inverness.

CCA introduces Citrus inmate re-entry program

Corrections Corporation of America (CCA) has instituted a sentence reduction program at their Lecanto facility, in concert with the Public Safety Coordinating Council to create a comprehensive structure for this new initiative.

Warden Russell Washburn brought the topic forward to the members of the Public Safety Coordinating Council in June, explaining he would like to start a re-entry program at his facility.
