Citrus County transit closed to regular service

Due to the impending storm, Hurricane Irma, Citrus County Transit will be closed to regular service, para transit (door to door by advanced reservation) and Orange Line Deviated Fixed Route on both Friday September 8 and Monday September 11.

Citrus County Superintendent of Schools Sandra "Sam" HimmelCitrus County Superintendent of Schools Sandra "Sam" Himmel told county parents that due to Hurricane Irma there will be no school on Friday, Sept. 8 or on Monday, Sept. 11 . 
 

Deputies looking for bank robbery suspect

BB&T Bank in Crystal River

The BB&T bank at U.S.19 and South Venable in Crystal River had to be closed closed due to a robbery at about 3:15 p.m., the Citrus County Sheriff's Office reported on Wednesday.

Donations sought for homeless, stray animals

Due to the impending impact of Hurricane Irma on Citrus County the Animal Shelter (Citrus County Animal Services) is anticipating an influx of homeless and stray animals.

Additional donations of critical items will be needed to care for animals and their comfort during the storm and during recovery efforts.
