Suspect captured after alleged attempted murder

Citrus County Sheriff's Office detectives have captured Michael Todd Marcum, 36, of Crystal River, regarding an incident that occurred Sunday morning around 9 a.m. at the B&B RV Park at 5096 W. Gulf to Lake Hwy in Lecanto.

Before noon on Tuesday, deputies and detectives apprehended Marcum in Crystal River without incident before noon on Tuesday. Marcum had been on the run since the alleged incident on Sunday.

He is now in custody.

The male victim told deputies that Marcum, whom he knew, robbed him and stabbed him in the throat.

The victim was taken to Ocala Regional with serious injuries. Marcum, who was released from prison on Oct. 8 and is registered as a career criminal, then fled on a mountain bike.

While on the run, Marcum was considered to be armed and dangerous.

UPDATE on Sept. 22, 2017:

Today, Michael Marcum,37, of Crystal River, pled to life in prison for attempted murder and armed robbery. Marcum stabbed a man in the throat and robbed him last year at the B&B Mobile Home park.
