Water district declares water shortage in multiple counties


Withlacoochee State Trail rehabilitation in Citrus County

At the Feb. 21 Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) meeting, MPO Chairman and Citrus County Commissioner Ron Kitchen requested an update on the status of the Withlacoochee State Trail (WST) maintenance.

VSO hours change

The hours of the Citrus County Veterans Service Office have changed.

Effective April 17, scheduled appointments and walk-in clients will be seen from 8 a.m. to noon, and from 1 to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Anyone wishing to meet with a Service Officer between 4 and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday should call to make an appointment, because walk-ins will not be accepted during these hours.

Paving to begin on Fort Island Trail

(Updted) -- The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners has contracted D.A.B. Constructors, Inc., to perform the Fort Island Trail Resurfacing (SCOP) Project.

Paving is expected to start on Tuesday April 18, and anticipated date of completion is May 5.

Shoulder work and final striping will be completed by June 5. The Project area starts at West Dixie Shores Drive, and extends approximately five miles west.

Advanced Disposal to modify collection dates

CITRUS COUNTY, FL., (March 29, 2017) –Advanced Disposal (NYSE: ADSW), an integrated environmental services company, today announced service day changes of trash, recycling, and/or yard waste collection for select residential customers of their Citrus County hauling facility.

Veterans Services Office hours changing

The hours of the Citrus County Veterans Service Office are changing. Effective April 17, 2017, the Veterans Service Office will be CLOSED for lunch from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM, and will accept clients on a BY-APPOINTMENT ONLY basis from 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Monday – Friday.
