Locations to register for FEMA Individual Assistance

FEMA logoThe following locations are available to the public to register themselves for FEMA’s Disaster Individual Assistance (IA).  

In cooperation and partnership with Citrus County, the following locations are available for public use to register for assistance:

Homosassa man reported missing

Ryan McClellan

Have you seen this missing man?

The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office is currently seeking the whereabouts of Ryan Michael McClellan.

McClellan is 33 years old, 5’6” tall, 120 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He has not been heard from since Sept. 16. He is not at his home in Homosassa. He may be in his 2003 Silver Jeep SUV, with Florida tag 3903VD.

If you see McClellan, or know of his whereabouts, please call Citrus County Sheriff’s Office and ask for Major Crimes, at 352-726-1121. If you wish to give information anonymously, please contact 1-888-ANY-TIPS.

Water rising along Withlacoochee near Floral City

The Citrus County Sheriff on Thursday urged residents to be vigilant along the Withlacoochee River in Floral City.
 
Due to rainfall and other factors caused by Hurricane Irma, the Withlacoochee River water level near and along Istachatta and Trails End Road in Floral City continue to rise, a statement from the Sheriff's Office said.

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday announced that the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), has Disaster Assistance Survivor Teams (DSAT) working in two areas in Citrus County.

FEMA’s National Flood Insurance Program enhances flood claims process, extends grace period for policy renewals

FEMA logoWASHINGTON, Sept. 15 2017 —To support the ongoing disaster recovery, the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) is enhancing the flood insurance claims process, and extending the grace period for paying policy renewal premiums for insured survivors affected by Hurricane Irma.

Updates announced for Homosassa road project

Traffic signThe Florida Department of Transportation has announced the latest traffic updates for the Homosassa construction.

Below is a list of current updates.

  • Aquaduct Street is closed at US 19 in Homosassa Springs

W. Aquaduct Street is closed beginning September 19, between US 19 and S. Pittsburgh Avenue, for underground utility installation work. It is expected to reopen the morning of September 22.
