New schedule for Orange Line routes

Citrus County Transit announces new schedules for Orange Line routes throughout the County effective April 4 to create a more effective system in meeting ridership needs. Regular passengers were notified over the last two weeks and orange signs designating route stops have been added or removed.

Break-in burglary may have led to Dunnellon man's death

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office said today that the death of a Dunnellon man may have been the result of a break-in burglary.

Not only that, but the larger picture is that the number of these types of burglaries are on the rise in Citrus County and its surrounding counties, the CCSO said.

Citrus County's Public Information Office has announced the launch of a new online Public Records Requests System on the Board of County Commissioners website.

County residents will have 24/7 access to make public records requests or find information.

Sheriff's Office issues 'Microsoft' scam alert

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office on Wednesday warned county residents of a scam that claims it represents Microsoft Corporation.

Here's how the scam works: Someone calls you claiming they are from Microsoft.

The caller, who usually has a foreign accent, claims that hackers are using your computer, and that it needs to be fixed. They ask for your computer ID number so they can fix, repair or stop the hackers.

Health Dept. Dental Clinic relocating to Inverness

The Citrus County Health Department announced today the Dental Clinic is relocating from Lecanto to the Inverness Clinic, 120 N. Montgomery Ave. in Inverness, in an effort to provide more accessible service for citizens, the agency said.

Dental Patients will be seen at this site starting on Sept. 16.
