Donations sought for homeless, stray animals

Due to the impending impact of Hurricane Irma on Citrus County the Animal Shelter (Citrus County Animal Services) is anticipating an influx of homeless and stray animals.

Additional donations of critical items will be needed to care for animals and their comfort during the storm and during recovery efforts.

Below is a list of items needed:

  • ·        Towels, blankets, wash cloths, and bath mats
  • ·        Clorox bleach
  • ·        Dawn Dish soap
  • ·        Paper Towels
  • ·        Mini fridge for medications for sick animals in isolation ward
  • ·        Baby scale for our isolation ward to monitor weights
  • ·        Canned cat food

Donations can be dropped off at the Animal Shelter, 4030 S. Airport Rd. Inverness 34450. For more information on how you can help call the Animal Shelter office at 352-746-8400.
