County passes final 2016-17 budget

The Citrus County Commission on Monday passed the budget for 2016-17 by a 3-2 vote.

Voting against the tentative budget were commissioners Dennis Damato and Scott Adams.

The budget is $255,378,772, or a 1.75% increase from 2015-16 budget of $250,983,322. The countywide budget includes Library Services, Fire Taxing District, Fire Rescue/EMS MSTU (Municipal Services Taxing Unit), and Stormwater MSTU.

  • Health Department: (0.0840 in FY 2015-16 and 0.0776 in FY 2016-17)
  • Total Countywide: (7.4554 in FY 2015-16 and 7.3319 in FY 2016-17

Special Districts:

  • Library Services: (Unchanged from FY 2015-16 at 0.3333
  • Fire Taxing District: (Unchanged from FY 2015-15 at 0.0000)
  • Fire MSTU: (0.5768 in FY 2015-16 and 0.5645 in FY 2016-17)
  • Stormwater MSTU: (Unchanged from FY 2015-16 at 0.1000)
  • Total Special Districts: (1.0101 in 2015-16 and 0.9978 in FY 2016-17)
