Halls River Bridge project update set for Sept. 26

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) was scheduled to have an update from the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) on the Halls River Bridge project at the regular BOCC meeting on Sept. 19.

However, the FDOT cannot be in attendance and the update has been rescheduled for the regular BOCC meeting on Sept. 26.

Meetings are held at the County Courthouse, 110 N. Apopka Avenue, Inverness, FL, and the public is invited to attend.

Who to call when dealing with trees, limbs and powerlines

A little close for comfort to powerlines.

The Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) has no regulatory authority over power companies providing services in Citrus County.

The Florida Public Services Commission (PSC) regulates power companies in Florida.

Trees and limbs in proximity to power lines are the jurisdiction of the power company, and the power company makes decisions regarding the cutting/trimming of trees and limbs. Questions on tree cutting and trimming should be addressed to your power provider.

The contact numbers for power providers in Citrus County are as follows:
