Citrus Community Swing Band to perform

Join your friends and neighbors at West Citrus Community Center to enjoy the swinging music and dancing! West Citrus Community Center is hosting a dance and concert featuring the Citrus Community Swing Band, June 13, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. until they can’t swing anymore! The event is free (donations are encouraged), and open to the public.

4th annual Youth Job Fair

OCALA, Fla. (May 30, 2017) – CareerSource Citrus Levy Marion is set to host its fourth annual Youth Job Fair on Wednesday, June 7 at the College of Central Florida’s Webber Conference Center in Ocala.

The free event is exclusively for 16-to-24-year olds who are seeking full- or part-time employment for permanent, summer or temporary positions. Held in partnership with Eckerd Workforce Development, it takes place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Webber Center is located on the north side of campus and is easily accessed via Southwest 20th Street.

Citrus County burn ban lifted

The temporary countywide Burn Ban, put in place by the Board of County Commissioners at their April 11 meeting, has been lifted effective Thursday, May 25.

Fort Island boat ramp now open

The Fort Island Beach Boat Ramp and floating dock are fully operational as of Thursday, May 25 after suffering major damage during Hurricane Hermine in September 2016.

Space needs grow for Clerk of Courts

Citrus County Clerk of Courts Angela Vick has asked the county commission to let her offices expand into an approximately 12,000-square-foot building on Montgomery Street in Inverness.

She said she needs the space to alleviate overcrowding in her offices. (May 23, 2017)

And she also gave a highly informative informational address about the success of voting methods, both at the state and local levels.

County names new Growth Management Director

Mark A. Green, new Growth Management Department Director
The Citrus County Commission on Tuesday voted 4-0 to accept Mark A. Green as the county's new Growth Management Director.
 
Green comes to Citrus County from Brooksville, where he worked as the Southwest Florida Water Management District's Springs & Environmental Flows Manager.
