2 teens dead, 1 injured in Friday car crash

Two teenageers have died and a third hospitalized following an accident on Friday evening near Champion Point.
The FHP said Saige Summer Fields, 18, was driving north on U.S. 19 when she is said to have made several lane changes and then lost control of her car.
The crash report said that the car then went off the road and hit a roadway sign and then a tree.

Ressler to resign from charitable foundation

Debbie Ressler will be resigning from the Citrus County Community Charitable Foundation (CCCCF). 
Her resignation from the volunteer board will be effective June 1. 
Ressler on Thursday said she and her husband will be making frequent trips to North Carolina to visit her two grandsons and that she won’t be able to devote the necessary time to adequately fulfill her duties on the CCCCF board.

Traveling burglars nabbed by deputies, detectives

For more than a year now, several Citrus County businesses and homes have been burglarized in a similar manner, the Citrus County Sheriff's Office said on Thursday.

Citrus County Utilities, in partnership with Citrus 20/20 Inc.’s annual Save Our Waters Week campaign and the Florida Section of American Water Works Association, are proud to announce the winners of the 2017 Drop Savers Poster Contest. 

The contest teaches elementary aged school children and reminds middle and high school aged teens about the importance of water conservation.

County residents urged to conserve water

Citrus County citizens are being urged to voluntarily reduce water consumption while drought conditions continue.

Voluntary citizen compliance will bring down the level of water usage, during this extended period of dry weather, to avoid potential regulatory action.

Law Week is an occasion of public acknowledgement of our Nation’s heritage of Justice, Liberty and Equality under the law.

Commissioner Coleman town hall meeting

Citrus County Commissioner Brian Coleman will be holding a Town Hall Meeting on Monday, May 1, 2017 for the general public to attend. The meeting will be held at the Inverness Community Center, 1082 N. Paul Dr., Inverness (off N. Independence Hwy.), from 5:30pm to 7:00pm.
