Sentenced: Sean Nelson

Sean Nelson was sentenced on July 29 to 8 years in the Department of Corrections with a 3 year minimum/mandatory in Judge Howard's courtroom for Trafficking in Cocaine, Possession of Paraphernalia, and a Violation of Probation for Possession of Firearm/Ammunition by Felon.

Additionally, he was sentenced as a Habitual Felony Offender.

Traffic Alert: Crystal River crash

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office shortly after midnight on Sunday advised motorists to be on the alert for a single-vehicle crash that occurred on West Ozello Trail near the intersection of South  Winterset Avenue in Crystal River recently.

The consensus among Citrus County commissioners on Wednesday was that the idea of an economic ombudsman between business and the county's various business-related departments is a good one.

Indeed, navigating the maze of county regulations and codes might be easier for a big business, but smaller businesses have not been so successful.

The Citrus County Board of County Commissioners on Tuesday proclaimed Aug. 7 as Purple Heart Day in Citrus County.

The Purple Heart, originally known as the Military Badge of Merit, was established by the General Orders of Gen. George Washington 234 years ago on Aug. 7, 1782, and is the oldest military decoration in the world in present use.

Dawsy backs Prendergast for sheriff

Missing/runaway juvenile

Kelsey Ann Tallman

On July 15, Kelsey Ann Tallman was reported as a missing/runaway juvenile to the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office.

Kelsey Tallman is 5’6” tall, 120 pounds, with red hair and hazel eyes. She has a piercing in the left side of her lip, and a tattoo on her lower abdomen of a black bird with the words “let it be”.

Kelsey was last seen wearing a blue and black horizontal striped dress, gray flip flops and carrying a purse with gold studs.
